Zhengxiangbai Banner belongs to Xilin Gol League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Located in the southwest of Xilin Gol grassland of Inner Mongolia, it is a typical grassland area on the southern edge of Hunshandake Sandy Land. It is an important new green industrial base in the south of the Xilin League, an important business logistics node and distribution center in the south of the Xilin League, and an important ecological barrier in the Beijing-Tianjin area. Zhengxiangbai Banner, with an altitude of 1200 ~ 1400 meters and the highest altitude of 1776 meters, has Hunshandake Sandy land in the north and low hilly grassland in the central and southern parts. Because of the different landforms, the geographical environment is colorful. The banner is 112 kilometers long from north to south and 88 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total land area of 6,253 square kilometers. It is adjacent to the developed region of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei in the south, backed by the prairie, and connected to the Eastern and Western Mongolian Economic zones from east to west. It is one of the closest regions to the Bohai Economic Circle in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce. In 2019, the annual GDP of Zhengxiangbai Banner reached 2.68 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1%. On March 4, 2020, the people's government of the autonomous region studied and agreed to withdraw from the poverty-stricken flag county sequence. In November 2020, it was selected into the third batch of water-saving social construction standard counties (districts). On August 2, 2021, Zhengxiangbai Banner of Xilin Gol League was approved by Leading Group for Rural Affairs of the CPC Central Committee as the national Key Rural revitalization Banner County.
