Zherong County, a county under Ningde, Fujian Province, is located in the northeast of Fujian Province, bordering Fuding in the east, Fu'an in the west, Taishun County, Zhejiang Province in the north, Xiapu in the south, between 27 ° 05 '- 27 ° 19' (27 ° 209 ') north latitude and 119 ° 43' - 120 ° 04 '(119 ° 897') east longitude. Zherong County, formerly known as Zheyang County, is an inland mountainous county in northeast Fujian Province. According to the results of the seventh national population census, the permanent population of Zherong County was 92989 as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020. Zherong County has been a border trading point between Fujian and Zhejiang since ancient times, one of the 55 counties and cities approved by the State Council to open to the outside world, and is a national ecological demonstration area. Zherong paper-cut window has become the only provincial cultural industry demonstration base in Ningde. It has the reputation of "the hometown of Chinese ginseng", "the hometown of Chinese folk culture and art" (paper-cut), and the hometown of Chinese longevity.

On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 Comprehensive Demonstration County of E-commerce in Rural Areas" by the Ministry of Commerce. In December 2018, it won the title of the second batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration cities and counties. In April 2020, Zherong County met the conditions for poverty alleviation and withdrawal, and withdrew from the provincial key counties for poverty alleviation and development in Fujian Province.
