Zhongba County, under the jurisdiction of Xigaze City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, is located in the west of Xigaze City, located in 82°-84.76° E longitude, 29.15°-31.8° N latitude, located in the southwest border of China, the westernmost point of Xigaze City, the north of the Himalayas, on both sides of the Maquan River, the west part of the Pran County of Ngari Prefecture, the north part of Ngari Prefecture Geji County, Geze County, It is adjacent to Ngari Prefecture in the east and Saga County in Shigatse City in the east, and borders Nepal in the south. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Zhongba County was 26,897.

With a total area of 43,600 square kilometers, Zhongba County has jurisdiction over 1 town and 12 townships. The Yarlung Zangbo River, which originates from Jemayangzong Glacier in Zhongba County, is listed as a national ecological protection area. The economy of Zhongba County is mainly based on animal husbandry, raising sheep, goats, yaks and horses.
In 2020, the gross social product (GDP) of Zhongba County reached 1.003 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 9.59%.
The first batch of national pilot demonstration zones for sustainable agricultural development. On February 6, 2019, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region decided to withdraw Zhongba County from poverty.
