Zhuzhou County (Zhuzhou County) generally refers to Lukou District.

Lukou District, which belongs to Zhuzhou City of Hunan Province, was called Lupu in ancient times and another name is Luxiang. It got its name because it is located at the mouth of Xiangjiang River in Luhui River. Lukou District is located in the middle reaches of the Xiangjiang River in the eastern part of central Hunan Province. It borders Lushui to the east and Xiangjiang River to the north, Liling City and Youxian County to the east, Hengdong County of Hengyang City to the south, Xiangtan County to the west, and Bilusong District and Tianyuan District to the north. In 2020, the GDP of Lukou District reached 15.03 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year at comparable prices. The added value of the primary industry was 2.48 billion yuan, up by 3.2%; The added value of the secondary industry was 6.37 billion yuan, up by 8.7%; The value added of the tertiary industry was 6.18 billion yuan, up by 2.9%. In 2020, Lukou District has jurisdiction over 8 towns, 129 villages and 10 communities (neighborhood committees). The total area is 1053.6 square kilometers. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Lukou District was 260,534.

Lukou District has been the gateway of Eastern Hunan since ancient times and the throat from Central Plains to the coastal areas of Guangdong, enjoying the reputation of "Pearl of Eastern Hunan". Located in the southern edge of Changzhu-Zhu-Tan City Cluster, it is an important part of Zhuzhou's development plan of "one core, one circle and one corridor". It belongs to Changzhutan "two-oriented society" construction pilot zone, of which 275 square kilometers are included in the core area.

On December 19, 2009, Lukou District was awarded "the Hometown of Chinese Poetry" by Chinese Poetry Society. In March 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of counties under protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. In November 2020, it was selected into the list of the third batch of counties (districts) that reached the standard of water-saving social construction.
