Zuogong County is a county under the jurisdiction of Qamdo City of Tibet Autonomous Region. It is located in the southeast of Tibet Autonomous Region and southeast of Qamdo City. It is located at 97°06 '-98°36' east longitude and 28°30 '-30°28' north latitude. It is bordered on the east by Mangkang County, on the south by Zayu County, Nyingchi City, on the west by Badu County, and on the north by Chaya County across the river. It is a semi-arid temperate climate in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau. The maximum distance between east and west of the county is 408 kilometers, and the maximum distance between north and south is 220 kilometers. With a total area of 11,707 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 3 towns, 7 townships, 127 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee. County people's government in Wangda Town, 1067 kilometers away from Lhasa. ZuoGong Tibetan refers to "author sumarizes (tillage) cow back" mean. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Zuogong County was 46,608 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.

In 2018, the GDP of Zuogong County reached 1.158 billion yuan, up 9 percent year on year.
On December 9, 2019, the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region approved Zuogong County's withdrawal from the poverty-stricken county (district).
