Ordos, meaning "numerous palaces" in Mongolian, is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the southwest of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the hinterland of Ordos Plateau, between latitude 37°35 '24 "~ 40°51' 40" north, longitude 106°42 '40 "~ 111°27' 20" east, with a total area of 87,000 square kilometers. On April 30, 2001, The State Council approved the official name of the league was renamed Ordos City.
