Liuzhou, abbreviated as "Liu" and nicknamed as Hucheng and Longcheng, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and an important central city in the central part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved by The State Council. By 2021, the city has jurisdiction over 5 municipal districts and 5 counties, with a total area of 18,596 square kilometers and an urban area of 312.45 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 4,175,300 and 4,175,300, with an urbanization rate of 70.33%.

Liuzhou, located in the northeast of central Guangxi, is an important railway hub connecting southwest with central and central China, East China and South China. Known as "Guizhong Commercial Port", Liuzhou is a sub-central city of Guangxi, a processing trade base and logistics transfer base city for two-way trade with ASEAN, and a hub city for distribution and distribution of large sea passage in southwest China. Liuzhou is a national historical and cultural city. It is the birthplace of "Liujiang Man", one of the earliest ancient humans in China. It has a history of more than 2,100 years. Late Qin and early Han Liuzhou belongs to South Vietnam. In the sixth year of Yuan Ding in the Western Han Dynasty, Yulin County and Tanzhong County were set up here, which was the beginning of Liuzhou's construction. With Liuzhou as the center of the 250km radius, more than 80% of the 4A level scenic spots in Guangxi are concentrated. Together with the adjacent Guilin City, it forms the world-famous Guilin Tourist Scenic spot. Liuzhou is known as the "stone capital of China" as it boasts "the best stones in the world". Liuzhou is the holy land for the transmission of songs by Liu Sanjie, the singing fairy of the Zhuang nationality. It is said that Liu Sanjie moved heaven by singing on Yufeng Mountain and became an immortal. Folk songs have been wreathing at the foot of Yufeng Mountain for generations. The song of the Zhuang nationality, the building of the Dong nationality, the dance of the Miao nationality and the festival of the Yao nationality are the four wonders of Liuzhou nationality.
