Turpan city

Turpan, a prefecture-level city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the central part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is an olive-shaped intermountain basin in the east of Tianshan Mountains, surrounded by mountains on all sides, and belongs to a typical continental warm temperate desert climate; It has jurisdiction over 1 district and 2 counties, with a total area of 69713 square kilometers. It has the location and convenient transportation advantages of "connecting the north and south, connecting the east with the west, and coming from the west to the east", realizing the economic integration of Urumqi and Turkmenistan. The first, second and third lines of the west-to-east gas transmission, the Asia-Europe optical cable, the second optical cable out of Xinjiang, and the 750 kV transmission and transformation lines of the west-to-east power transmission run across the whole territory. In October 2017, it was awarded the National Garden City.
