Xingtai, abbreviated as "Xing", formerly known as Xingzhou and Shunde Prefecture, is a prefecture level city in Hebei Province, a node city of Beijing Tianjin Hebei urban agglomeration, an advanced manufacturing base and a logistics hub in central and southern Hebei Province approved by the Hebei Provincial Government. By 2020, the city will have jurisdiction over 4 districts, 12 counties and 2 county-level cities, with a total area of 12400 square kilometers. According to the data of the seventh census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Xingtai City is 7111106. In 2021, the city's GDP will reach 242.71 billion yuan.

Xingtai is located in northern China and southern Hebei. The Beijing Guangzhou, Beijing Kowloon Railway, Beijing Guangzhou, Beijing Kowloon High speed Railway, and Beijing Hong Kong Macao, Daguang and Taihang Mountain Highways run north and south; Xinghe, Xinghuang Railway, Xingheng Hengyang, Xingfen, Xinglin and Qingyin Expressway run from east to west, forming a transportation hub "connecting east to west, south to north" with Xingtai International Inland Port and Xingtai Airport.

Xingtai has a history of more than 3500 years. Since 50000 to 100000 years ago, human beings have lived and multiplied. It is the first city in the history of North China. It is known as the "ancient capital of five dynasties and the male county of ten dynasties". After more than 3000 years of administrative system, it has not been interrupted and the city site has not been moved. Xingtai Ancient City is the earliest "First Ancient City" in the area north of the Yellow River, known as the "First City of Yanzhao". A long history has witnessed the emergence of such sages as Guo Shoujing, Li Mu, Song Jing, Liu Bingzhong, and the emergence of such emperors as Guo Wei, Chai Rong, Meng Zhixiang, and Meng Chang. The Emperor Qin Shihuang died in Xingtai dunes on his way to the east. Xingtai is also the ancestral home of the imperial family of the Tang Dynasty (Tang Tomb). There were many events that affected the process of Chinese history, such as the abdication of Yao and Shun, riding and shooting in Hu suits, the Battle of the Giant Deer, the Yellow Scarf Uprising, etc. There are nearly 100 idioms and allusions from Xingtai, such as "break the boat and sink the boat, who will win the battle", "people's wealth and people's cream", and "suffer from enemies".
