Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is an autonomous prefecture under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province, with its capital in Yanji City. It is located in northeast China and east of Jilin Province. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east, and slopes southeast from southwest, northwest and northeast. The total length of the border is 768.5 kilometers, including 522.5 kilometers of China-North Korea border and 246 kilometers of China-Russia border. Yanbian has 5 national nature reserves and 8 provincial nature reserves, with a forest coverage rate of 80.8%. It is rich in ginseng, antler and mink, which are known as the "three treasures of Northeast China". The production of ginseng antler ranks first in the world, and it is also the world's largest apple pear production base.
Yanbian is the only Korean autonomous prefecture and the largest Korean settlement area in China. It also enjoys the national Western Development Plan policy and is one of the three prefectural-level administrative regions that enjoy relevant policies. It is also the birthplace of Manchu and its ancestors Sushen people and the "land of Dragon prosperity" of Qing Dynasty.
