Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, or "GUI" for short, is a provincial administrative region of the People's Republic of China. Nanning, the capital city, is located in South China, 104°28 '~ 112°04' east longitude, 20°54 '~ 26°23' north latitude, east to Guangdong, south to Beibu Gulf and Hainan across the sea, west to Yunnan, northeast to Hunan, northwest to Guizhou, southwest to Vietnam Socialist Republic bordering. Guangxi has an administrative area of 237,600 square kilometers, jurisdiction over the Beibu Gulf sea area of about 40,000 square kilometers, and the total length of the mainland coastline is 1,628.6 kilometers. In 2021, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region had a permanent population of 50.37 million.
Guangxi is located at the southeast edge of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the west of Liangguang Hills, the second step of China's topography. Mainly distributed in mountains, hills, platforms, plains and other types of landforms, central and southern hilly flat, basin shape, known as "Guangxi basin", plain, platform area of 55,500 square kilometers. There are 12 ethnic groups inhabiting Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Dong, Mulam, Manan, Hui, Jing, Yi, Shui and Gelao. Zhuang nationality accounts for 31.4% of the permanent population of the district.
Bagui culture is the main content of Guangxi national culture and a component of Lingnan culture. Guangxi is the only autonomous region of ethnic minorities bordering the sea and the only coastal region in western China. It is an important gateway and frontier for China to open up to the outside world, to ASEAN and to the world, and is the most convenient outlet to the sea in the Great Southwest of China. National strategies such as the New land-sea Corridor in the Western region, the Beibu Gulf City Cluster, and the Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Belt have been carried out. It spans Guangxi, Guangdong and Hainan provinces, borders the Southwest, borders Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and faces Southeast Asia. It is an important hub of the Maritime Silk Road, and plays a unique role in the strategic pattern of the development of the western region and the country's overall opening up.
In 2021, China's GDP reached 2,474.086 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.5 percent over the previous year and an average two-year growth of 5.6 percent at constant prices.
