Chongzuo, a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is an important node city of Zhujiang - Xijiang Economic Belt, Beibu Gulf City group and Guangxi Beiwan Economic Zone. Located in the southwest of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Chongzuo is located between 21°36 '~23°22' north latitude, 106°33 '~108°6' east longitude, and is connected to Nanning City and Fangchenggang City in the east and southeast. It borders Baise City in the north and Vietnam in the west. It is a prefecture-level city with the longest land border line in Guangxi, covering a total area of 17,300 square kilometers.

Chongzuo is the most convenient land route from China to ASEAN, and an important node city in the economic corridor between China and Vietnam and between Nanning and Singapore. It has 5 first-class national ports, 2 second-class ports and 14 border exchange points, making it the city with the most border ports in China.
Chongzuo City is located in the south of the Tropic of Cancer. It belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone and has rich resources. It is known as the capital of sugar and manganese in China and the largest sugarcane planting and sucrose production base in China. Living in the territory of 28 ethnic groups, there are a transnational waterfall Detian waterfall, the world cultural heritage of Zuojiang Huashan rock painting, one of the world's eight Leaning Tower leaning Zuojiang Tower, Fusui County Jingui Rock, Pingxiang City Youyi Pass and other famous tourist attractions.

As of 2022, Chongzuo City has jurisdiction over 1 municipal district and 5 counties (Jiangzhou District, Daxin County, Fusui County, Longzhou County, Tianget County and Ningming County), under the jurisdiction of Pingxiang City. In 2021, Chongzuo has a registered population of 2,514,200 and a permanent resident population of 2,087,700, with an urbanization rate of 44.85%. In September 2016, it was awarded the title of National Forest City by the State Forestry Administration. In 2021, the city's GDP reached 98.909 billion yuan, an increase of 9.8% over the previous year based on comparable prices.
