Fuzhou, known as Linchuan in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province. It is one of the important cities in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, the West Bank of the Straits Economic Zone, the Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone and the former Central Soviet Area. Since ancient times, Fuzhou has been known as "leading rivers and lakes and controlling Fujian and Guangdong". It is located in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Southeast Fujian Triangle, and is located in the east of Jiangxi Province. It has jurisdiction over 2 districts and 9 counties, with a total area of 18,800 square kilometers. By the end of 2021, Fuzhou has a permanent population of 3,579,400.
