Hanzhong City, referred to as "Han", is a prefection-level city under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province. It is located in the southwest of Shanxi Province, bordered by Baoji City and Xi 'an City in the north, Ankang City in the east, Guangyuan City, Bazhong City and Dazhou City in Sichuan Province in the south, and Longnan City in Gansu Province in the west. It covers an area of 27246 square kilometers and is located in the inland East Asian monsoon climate zone with mild and humid climate. The average annual temperature is about 14.5℃. There are many tourist attractions in Hanzhong, including Wuzi Mountain Scenic spot, Huayang Scenic spot, Zibai Mountain Scenic spot, Liping Scenic spot, Crested ibis Liyuan Scenic spot, Shimen Plank Road Scenic spot and other national AAAA tourist spots. In January 1994, Hanzhong was listed in the third batch of national historical and cultural cities by The State Council. In November 2007, Hanzhong was named China's Outstanding Tourism City by the National Tourism Administration.
