Fujian Province, referred to as "Fujian" for short, is the provincial administrative region of the People's Republic of China. Fuzhou, the provincial capital, is located on the southeast coast of China, bordering Zhejiang Province in the northeast, Jiangxi Province in the northwest, Guangdong Province in the southwest, and Taiwan Province across the Taiwan Strait in the southeast, with a total land area of 124000 square kilometers.
Fujian Province is located at the traffic hub of the East China Sea and the South China Sea. It is the starting point of the Silk Road and Zheng He's voyages to the West in the history of Shanghai, as well as the distribution center of maritime commerce. The terrain of Fujian Province is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, showing the trend of "close to the mountains and the sea". The area of mountains and hills in Fujian Province accounts for about 90% of the total area of the province; It is located across the four major water systems of Minjiang River, Jinjiang River, Jiulong River and Tingjiang River, and has a subtropical marine monsoon climate. By the end of 2021, Fujian Province has jurisdiction over 9 prefecture-level cities, including Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Putian, Longyan, Sanming, Nanping and Ningde, with a total of 11 county-level cities, 42 counties and 31 municipal districts. According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the permanent resident population of Fujian Province will be 41.87 million in 2021.
In 2021, Fujian Province will achieve a gross regional product of 4881036 billion yuan, an increase of 8.0% over the previous year.
