Anhui, abbreviated as "Anhui", is a provincial administrative region of the People's Republic of China, taking its name from the first character of Anqing and Huizhou. The provincial capital Hefei. It is located in the Yangtze River Delta region of East China, between 114°54 '-- 119°37' east longitude and 29°41 '-- 34°38' north latitude. It is connected with Jiangsu in the east, Henan and Hubei in the west, Zhejiang in the southeast, Jiangxi in the south and Shandong in the north, with a total area of 14100 square kilometers. By the end of 2021, Anhui had 61.13 million permanent residents.

Anhui is close to the coastal waters of the Yangtze River. There are 800 li of urban agglomeration along the Yangtze River and Wanjiang City Belt to undertake industrial transfer demonstration area. It has the Yangtze River waterway inside and the economic radiation of the coastal areas outside. The terrain is composed of plains, hills and mountains; Across the Huaihe River, Yangtze River, Xin 'an River three major water systems. Anhui province is located in the transition area between warm temperate zone and subtropical zone. North of Huaihe River is a warm temperate sub-humid monsoon climate, south of Huaihe River is a subtropical humid monsoon climate, north and south compatible.

As an important part of the Yangtze River Delta, Anhui Province is located at the strategic point of national economic development and the docking zone of several major domestic economic plates. Its economy, culture and other areas of the Yangtze River Delta have historical and natural connections. Anhui culture has a long history, consisting of Huizhou culture, Huaihe culture, Wanjiang culture and Luzhou culture.

As of July 2020, Anhui Province has 16 provincial-level cities under its jurisdiction, including 9 county-level cities, 50 counties and 45 municipal districts. In 2021, the GDP of Anhui Province reached 4,295.92 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3 percent over the previous year and an average increase of 6 percent in two years.
