Hubei Province, abbreviated as 'E' is a provincial administrative region of the People's Republic of China, with Wuhan as its capital. It is located in the central region of China, adjacent to Anhui in the east, Chongqing in the west, Shaanxi in the northwest, Jiangxi and Hunan in the south, and Henan in the north. It is between 29°01'53'-- 33°6'47' N and 108°21'42'-- 116°07' 50' E. It is about 740 kilometers long from east to west and 470 kilometers wide from north to south. The total area is 185,900 square kilometers, accounting for 1.94% of China's total area. It has jurisdiction over 12 prefecture-level cities and 1 autonomous prefecture.
The terrain of Hubei Province is roughly surrounded by mountains on three sides in the east, west and north, with a low level in the middle and a slightly incomplete basin open to the south. In the total area of the province, mountains account for 56%, hills account for 24%, plain lakes account for 20%, belong to the Yangtze River system. Hubei Province is located in the subtropical zone, except the alpine areas belong to the alpine climate, most areas belong to the subtropical monsoon humid climate.
By the end of 2021, Hubei had 58.3 million permanent residents. In 2021, the GDP of Hubei Province reached 5001.294 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry was 466.167 billion yuan, that of the secondary industry was 1895.299 billion yuan and that of the tertiary industry was 2,639.837 billion yuan. The structure of the tertiary industry was 9.3:37.9:52.8. The per capita GDP was 86,416 yuan.
